Prepare for 'Me Time' Momma Yoga Class

Arrive 10-15 minutes early to set up and use the restroom.

  • Prenatal Yoga ends at 8:30pm. Please honor noble silence until the class is over.
  • If you arrive prior to me unlocking the front door, simply wait in the vestibule.

Livonia Yoga Center has props: thick bolsters, blankets, cork blocks, straps and mats. (However, for hygienic purposes we encourage you to bring your own mat.) If you have any props at home, please bring those with you... especially an eye pillow.

Wear comfortable, breathable clothing. Layers work well in the cooler months. The room is set at about 70-75 degrees.

To avoid adjusting hair ties: please use a very low ponytail or pigtails. (Parts of the class will be lying down on the back.)

Do not wear any scents (i.e. lotions, perfumes or colognes.)

Typically yoga is practiced on an empty belly (refraining from meals 2-3 hours before practice.) If possible, notice if you can avoid eating before class.

  • Being a mom is a never-ending job. Prioritizing your food and beverage intake is almost laughable. If you need to eat before coming to class - eat! Just like in Prenatal Yoga: perhaps avoid that chili cheese dog until after class, but enjoy a small sandwich, veggies, fruit or crackers to tide you over.

Most importantly: please do not leave early. Allowing time for savasana seals the work you have done. Becoming aware of your body, mind and breath is my goal to assist you through this phase in your life. Embrace the moment of stillness.

About Elise

I'm a RPYT (Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher) and RYT 500 (Registered Yoga Teacher) rooted in the Hatha tradition, and the Samkhya philosophy; however I attend a variety of classes, like Kundalini. I’m living my dharma (purpose) by creating a community to assist women during the rite of passage into motherhood through the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual qualities of the yoga practice.

In addition to yoga, I'm a mom of two beautiful children and have many interests including Feng Shui, Reiki, alternative healing methods, harnessing my intuition and whatever else inspires me along the way!
